Stellenbosch, March 2012: After seven successful years at Dornier, JC Steyn moves on to pursue his career at a new employer. We have enjoyed working with JC. He has been instrumental in refining our wines and working towards our signature style, which is all about elegance and freshness.
Our new winemaker Jeanine Faure will benefit from a great cellar and vineyards team and start with some amazing vintages in barrel. She will join us while the 2012 harvest is in full swing. So far, the quality looks very promising.
Jeanine, who is a Stellenbosch graduate of 2004, has gathered an impressive amount of international experience in her 8 years as winemaker. She has worked at leading wineries around the globe:
In South Africa Jeanine has worked at Meerlust, Zorgvliet, Camberley and Raats, in Australia at Chapel Hill Wines and Torbreck Vinters, in France at M. Chapoutier, in California at Demetria and Stonestreet, and in Italy at Fattoria Le Corti.
Jeanine is famed for her internationally trained palate and has a magic hand when it comes to blending.
Says Jeanine: "I am really looking forward to work for such a well-respected winery as Dornier. They have fantastic vineyard sites, an energetic team and a range of unique and elegant wines."
We are proud to welcome Jeanine as part of our team.
