Dornier Bodega will be hosting the Swiss Chocolate Affair, beginning on 1st August 2011 and running for the entire month. The aim of the event is to highlight the enhancing effect which chocolate has on the flavours of food and wine. Neil Norman, our Executive Chef, will be using the famous Felchlin chocolate in both savoury and sweet dishes to create some interested combinations.

1 - 4 August: Celebrating Swiss Day
We invite all Swiss nationals and “friends of Switzerland” to Dornier Bodega from Monday 1st to Thursday 4th August to celebrate Swiss Day. Guests having lunch at Bodega will receive 50% discount off any dish from the “Chocolate Affair” menu.
5, 12, 19 & 25 August: “Cooking with Chocolate”- Exploring the savoury dimensions of chocolate
Neil will be running several courses throughout August which will be held every Friday evening, beginning on Friday 5th August. After enjoying a welcome drink, you will be introduced to the world of chocolate making, you’ll be guided through cooking your own chocolate infused dish, using Swiss Felchlin chocolate, and of course, enjoying a glass or two of Dornier wine. Once you’ve mastered this, the kitchen will prepare a three course menu, which you will enjoy with our fine wines. Classes will comprise of between 8-12 guests, allowing ample time and space to participate. The cost for the evening will be R350.00 per person, which includes the cooking class, dinner, wine with the meal and gratuity.
18 & 25 August: “Felchlin Grand Cru Chocolate Tasting”
A very rare opportunity will be the Grand Cru chocolate tasting nights at Dornier Bodega. You will be able to taste up to eight different varieties of Felchlin chocolate. The tasting will be followed by a two-course dinner paired with our wines and rounded up with home-made truffles and coffee. These two evenings will take place on Thursday 18th August and Thursday 25th August. The number of guests is limited to 14. The cost for the evening will be R285.00 per person including gratuity.
